une is a big month for
women in golf. There's
the U.S. Open Women's
Championship, the Women's
PGA Championship, and the
annual national observance of
Women's Golf Day on June 7.
The Academy at Indian Wells
Golf Resort is getting in on the
action as well as part of Troon's
Women's Golf Month.
The Academy will be offering
special instructional clinics be-
ginning June 8 and running
every Wednesday at 9 a.m. for
one hour. Topics will vary.
The cost is $75 daily and if
you book three sessions at $225
you receive the fourth session
free. Rental clubs are included
and range use is complimentary
on the day of the clinic. Men
are welcome to sign up as well.

we all strive to achieve. But it can
be a challenge to work on your
game during the summertime. That's where
the Studio at The Academy at IWGR comes
in. We spoke with PGA Head Golf Profes-
sional Tom Burley to find out how players
can stay sharp when the heat is on:
Why is the Studio ideal for game im-
provement during the summer months?
Being indoors in the summer will allow
you to log the time you need to get the
results you are looking for. It is really
hard to log the time when the summer
months can be brutal with the heat.

What is your favorite thing about teach-
ing inside the Studio? As an instructor, I
enjoy taking a deeper dive into the stu-
dent's swing with video analysis and
launch monitor software.

In what ways does the technology in-
side the Studio benefit the average golfer?
I think that when the average golfer actu-
ally sees their swing on camera for the first
time it can be eye opening. Once the stu-
dent can see what it is they are trying to
accomplish, versus where they are actually
at in real time, results start to show.

What is one thing about the Studio
that most golfers otherwise wouldn't be
aware of? That it isn't just for golf lessons
and club fitting. You can play a simulated
18-hole round of golf in online events
against real players in other TrackMan
studios around the world.
