EVENT RAISES
FUNDS FOR
THE FIRST TEE
T
he biggest fundraiser of the
year for the First Tee –
Coachella Valley is its an-
nual golf tournament. And thanks
to the City of Indian Wells, the
youth golf organization hopes its
event on Monday, April 10, will
be bigger than ever.
Playing on two courses for the
first time, the 13th annual gathering
will take place on Indian Wells
Golf Resort's Players and Celebrity
courses. The outing raises money to
fund programs that support thou-
sands of kids throughout the Valley.
Registration is $250 per player
and includes a barbecue dinner
and an invitation to enjoy Indian
Wells Golf Resort's Shots in the
Night experience, which includes
laser putting games, Toptracer on
the driving range and more.
Non-golfers can participate by
attending the dinner and Shots in
the Night for $100.

L
inks Magazine featured its Top 10
Munis last November, and the Players
Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort
ranked No. 6 on the esteemed list.
In addition to being a golf course owned
by a municipality, the magazine judged
courses based on quality of the design, test
of golf, scenic appeal and tournament lore.
"This recognition truly shows the blood,
sweat and tears that the Indian Wells Golf
Resort team puts in every single day," said
Director of Sales and Marketing Ben Rodny,
who gave praise to the maintenance team
led by Director of Agronomy Nick Leitner.
"Nothing happens by accident. This acco-
lade is recognition of the course and service
quality and by that it extends to the quality
of the team."
Indian Wells Golf Resort received two
additional honors in 2022 as well.
Golf Pass ranked the Celebrity Course
No. 27 on the website's "Golfers' Choice
2022: Top 50 U.S. Courses" list, and both
the Celebrity and Players courses were fea-
tured among the "Golfer's Choice 2022:
Best Golf Courses in California."
The Celebrity course ranked No. 3 in the
state and the Players Course was No.13.
Golf Advisor also ranked the Players
Course No. 27 in its "Golfers Choice Top 50
Golf Course in the United States."
Hole No. 17 on the Players Course.
