I
ndian Wells Golf Resort is well known
for its two award-winning golf courses,
stellar playing conditions, and beauti-
ful scenery. But there's no doubt a host of
other interesting features about the Players
and Celebrity courses that our golfers and
guests don't know. Here are my top five:
1) If your sand game isn't up to par,
take into consideration that the Players
Course has 67 sand traps while the
Celebrity Course boasts 103.
2) The Players Course sand traps are
large enough to rake with the aid of a
sand pro machine, while Celebrity
bunkers are smaller and more intricate –
although all are raked by hand.
3) Hitting the green on the Players
Course might be a little easier as the
greens on average are slightly larger, any-
where from 500-700 square feet.
4) Keeping your ball dry will be much
easier on the Players Course as it has four
bodies of water, while the Celebrity
Course has 10.
5) Both courses have exactly six holes
that play in the north-south general direc-
tion – all the rest are essentially east-west.
