I
n this video, PGA Director of Instruction Eric Solander demonstrates the ideal impact
position when making contact with the golf ball. "We want to try to hit the ball as
low as we can," Solander says when explaining how to get into position. When done
correctly, you'll notice how fast the ball shoots off the club face. "That's the sign that
you know you're doing good at impact, when you see that ball take off really low."

Specialty clinics help
improve your game
S
aturday Specialty Clinics continue at The
Academy at Indian Wells Golf Resort,
providing an opportunity for golfers to take a
deep dive into the skills needed to become a
better player. Led by PGA Director of
Instruction Eric Solander and Lead Teaching
Professional Jordan Hamblin, the $75-per-
student clinics are held on Saturdays from
12-1:30 p.m. Here's a look at what's ahead:
> Symmetrical drill and reverse learning
on February 12: Using reverse learning to
help clear the mind of swing thoughts, this
class will focus on how both sides of the body
must work together to create a consistent
tempo and swing.
> Pre-shot and post-shot routine on
February 19: This class will work on the
process of creating routines that fit your game
and personality.
> A jack of all trades is a master of none,
but oftentimes better than a master of one
on February 26: This class will make you a
master at a number of different shots around
the green.
> Driver full-swing synchronization and
how to shape shots off the tee on March 5:
This class will provide tools on how to cure your
slice or hook that stems from bad timing or
sequencing. The class can also help you have
more fun and shape shots off the tee.
