T
he Spring Golfography Experi-
ence will be held at Indian Wells
Golf Resort April 16-18, and it is
an event you won't want to miss if you
love golf course photography.
The event is put on by world-
renowned golf photographer Channing
Benjamin and co-hosted by
Patrick Koenig, also one of the
top visual artists in the game. It
is open to beginners, intermedi-
ate and advanced photogra-
phers and golfers alike.
Participants will play 18
holes of golf each of the three days on
the Players and Celebrity courses with
their cameras in tow, as well as experi-
ence two days of landscape, sunrise
and sunset photography lessons, re-
ceive instruction on optimal camera
settings and setup, and enjoy some ter-
rific meals at the award-winning Vue
Grille & Bar. The workshop is $975 per
participant, and space is limited.
"There is nothing in the world like
the Golfography Experience," Benjamin
said. "Not only do you get the experi-
ence, but you get to do it at a first class
facility in season. It's a chance to meet
other like-minded individuals and cre-
ate long-lasting relationships."
During the Golfography Experience,
participants will discuss the art of pho-
tography and how it relates to the
game of golf. Technical ideas and tips
for better photography and post pro-
cessing will be covered, as well as pho-
tography for social media.
While Benjamin has made a career
out of golf photography, he under-
stands just how enjoyable it can be as a
hobby for others.
"Shooting golf photos is really beau-
tiful – and it's a chance to get outside
and experience nature," he said, adding
that Indian Wells Golf Resort, set
against the spectacular Santa Rosa
Mountains backdrop, is about as ideal a
shooting location as he could imagine.
"It's eye candy from tee to green."
