beautiful facility, and enjoying the silence.
While we were closed we tended to sev-
eral projects, one of which was to have all
the trees around the outer walls trimmed,
as well as many others on the courses. It
has been great to get them cut back and
we are in the process of cleaning up and
improving these areas.
At some point, the golf courses slowly
reopened, and golfers were thrilled to be
out playing. Even in August, when it was
110-plus degrees and humid, the courses
were busy. That is a great thing for every-
one and it's impressive to see how many
residents have been out to play. Even
though we've had some strict guidelines
to follow, our staff and leadership have
stepped up and provided an amazing ex-
perience, just like before.
Throughout the summer we continued
with our typical aerifications on each
course, allowing us to pull cores on all the
surfaces as well as work on other projects.
We have completed all of that and both
courses are open – and we are still super
busy with guest play, as well as several big
tournaments that we are hosting, includ-
ing the Southern California Open, the
Southern California PGA Section Champi-
onship, and a Toyota Cup junior event.
Following these events, we will begin
our overseeding process. We will start
with event lawns and the putting course
and driving range, followed by the Players
Course September 28-October 15 and the
Celebrity course October 18-November 5.
There is still plenty of time to come out
and get some golf in, and hopefully we'll
start to see cooler temperatures as well.
The golf shop is open for business and
Vue Grille & Bar has patio dining avail-
able. As soon as the county allows, we'll
get back to indoor seating.
It's been a one-of-a-kind summer, and
we're all looking forward to a great sea-
son. Hope to see you all out on the course
or at Vue sometime soon.
Cheers and stay safe.
