FROM THE PRO BOOK A TEE TIME FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME A Head PGa Golf Professional anthony Holder shares his thoughts on a range of topics impacting golfers "The biggest issue we find in pace of play is that people aren't ready to go when it's their turn." – ANTHONY HOLDER nthony Holder is nothing if not passionate about the game and business of golf. The 30-year-old Head PGA Professional at Indian Wells Golf Resort is on a mission to provide golfers with more enjoyment. Here, he shares his thoughts on a range of topics: PACE OF PLAY "Most golfers can improve on ready golf," Holder says. "The biggest issue we find in pace of play is that people aren't ready to go when it's their turn." Holder says it starts at Indian Wells when golfers drop off their clubs with the valet and continues in the pro shop where staff members remind golfers of the importance of ready golf with helpful tips. "We promise an experience and we want to own up to that experience," Holder said. ENJOY THE WALK Holder also is aiming for the health-conscious golfer. The course now offers Walk the Wells, where players can walk the course, receive a yardage book and a pedometer to keep track of burned calories. "It's really cool to see families or hotel guests strolling up," he said. "You don't see a lot of people walking anymore. We're finding that the walkers keep up with everyone else." COME AS YOU ARE Looking to attract a wider audience, Holder has instituted a more relaxed dress code so golfers are not required to wear a collared shirt. "We want our guests to feel comfortable." GAME IMPROVEMENT For those who want to improve their game, Holder has implemented an indoor swing analysis center, which features two cameras positioned to capture the swing and replay it in slow motion for the golfer. The results are instantaneous. "It's an invaluable tool for teaching," Holder said. "We have the ability to see ball flight and spin. We can also show the student exactly what is going on in their swing." CLICK FOR INFORMATION ON GROUP LESSONS • GOLF CLINICS • LESSON SPECIALS
