3 QUESTIONS WITH…
SCOTT WINANT

1.
What is it about Indian Wells? It is
such a magnificent property. The
second you walk in the front doors, you
are amazed by the architecture, furnishings and fixtures.
2.
Can we expect menu changes?
Yes, the menu will be changing
seasonally. We're moving in the direction
of all local, organic, sustainable, farm-totable fresh menu, focusing on
exceptionally "crafted" dishes.
3.
Hopes and dreams? My
goal, from a local perspective, is to make the IW Club a
place where you can always
count on something exciting
going on. Whether it's a special
promotion, event, or entertainment, locals know they can
come here as their home away
from home on a regular basis.

For new GM Steven Rosen, success is measured through customer service
teven Rosen, the new general manager at Indian Wells Golf Resort, knows a few things
about the hospitality industry, having once managed Sonny Bono's Italian restaurant at
the Riviera in Palm Springs, along with resorts throughout the southwest.
And when it comes to the fundamentals, the golf business is not much different.
"We are in the business of customer service," Rosen said. "We provide services more than
just carrying your clubs and dropping them off. It's just not a golf course. This is a first-class,
high-end luxury hospitality venue. Guests want to play golf – and be wined and dined."
Indian Wells Golf Resort has long been a jewel of the desert. Rosen wants to capitalize on
the property's success along with all it has to offer.
"No one would believe the natural beauty of how

lush and green a desert venue can be," he said.
Rosen is overseeing upgrades in the restaurant
and bar, but his ultimate goal is to ensure the quality
of the experience for resort guests.
"I want to give our employees the tools they need
for them to do what they do best, which is provide
great service," he said.
After gigs in Arizona and Colorado, Rosen wanted
to come back and make his mark in the desert.
"This is a knock-your-socks-off property," he said.
"Indian Wells drew me back because of the facility."
