As winter turns to spring, the agronomy
team is working to transition turf on the
Players and Celebrity courses
W
ith two highly regarded courses under
his watch and the season in full swing as
golf-minded travelers and part-time resi-
dents are visiting the Coachella Valley during winter,
Indian Wells Golf Resort's Director of Agronomy
Jonas Conlan has plenty on his plate. But someone in
his role is always looking forward and with spring
just around the corner, Conlan spent some time with
us discussing how the Celebrity and Players courses
will transition as warmer temperatures arrive – and
what effect that will have on playing conditions.

promote the transition back to Bermuda grass. We
will also begin some cultural practices such as aerifi-

Snow-capped
mountain views.
