t
he new year will feature two competitive tournaments at Indian
Wells Golf Resort that golfers won't want to miss.
The first event will take place on Super Bowl weekend, when the
Fourth Annual Pro-Am Invitational hosted by the City of Indian Wells
tees off Saturday, Feb. 3. Only a few spots remain for the tournament,
which pairs four amateurs and a professional. The entry fee is $1,600 per
team, and the pros will compete for a $10,000 purse ($3,000 for the win-
ner), while amateurs can win stay-and-play packages to some of the top
golf destinations in North America.
The festivities begin on Friday, Feb. 2, as contestants are treated to a
reception and mixer, and competition starts the following day with an
11 a.m. shotgun start. clicK HErE for more details or to sign up a team.

Another popular tournament is the Desert Two-Ball Challenge, an
event where two-player teams compete against each other over three
days at three Troon Golf-managed properties in the Coachella Valley, in-
cluding The Westin Mission Hills, Classic Club and Indian Wells Golf Re-
sort. The event takes place April 20-22, and is $598 to enter per team.
Competitors will play at Indian Wells on April 22, followed by an awards
reception. clicK HErE for more details or to sign up a team.
BRIEFLY IN THE NEWS
I
t was four years ago that
The Pavilion sprouted up
on the grounds at Indian
Wells Golf Resort – and it has
been one big success story
ever since.
The venue has hosted a va-
riety of events over the years,
including weddings, recep-
tions, corporate outings, wine
extravaganzas and more.
"There's nothing else like
it in the Coachella Valley,"
said Director of Sales and
Marketing Michael Tebbetts.
"It's a unique venue that of-
fers our guests the opportu-
nity to start with a blank
canvas and to enhance the
space with their own theme."
A recent renovation and
expansion included an 800-
square-foot suite that can be
used for a bridal salon, a
green room or private space
for meetings. In addition, a
25,000-square-foot event
lawn that can accommodate
up to 1,000 guests was added
to the east side of The Pavil-
ion. The south-facing patio of
The Pavilion was also ex-
panded, providing more
space for outdoor activities as
well as spectacular views.
