To start with, a three-course prix fix dinner, in addition to the full menu, will be offered 4 to 9 p.m. Dec. 24 and 25. Cost is $35. New Year's Eve at the Vue Grille & Bar features a three-course menu, live music, dancing and a champagne toast at midnight with up to 450 rev- elers. Last year's party sold out so early reservations are recommended. The party is from 5 p.m. to midnight and the cost is $75 per person. call (760) 834-3800 for reservations. •••••• While this month's wine dinner spotlighting Ferrari-Carano sold out quickly, the series contin- ues at the end of January with Rodney Strong Vine- yards. A different varietal will be served with each one of five courses as a represen- tative from the winery discusses the pairings. Wine dinners are held typically every other month and are limited to 40 guests. •••••• Guests can expect great service and a friendly smile from Michael Navarro, the new Food and Beverage Manager. Navarro (pictured below) has been a server in the desert for 14 years, the last four at Indian Wells. "He has an in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of the bar and restaurant, you just can't teach that," says Scott Winant, Director of Food and Beverage. "He knows the guests and what they want and how to approach them after serving them for several years." •••••• Weekly specials continue this season in the bar with all- you-can-eat BBQ ribs from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays. Cost is $17. Friday nights it's surf and turf for $36 fol- lowed by prime rib on Saturdays for $28. Both are three courses. Bottom- less champagne brunch is on the menu every Sunday.
