THE PAVILION > C L I C K H E R E F O R I N F O R M AT I O N O N H O S T I N G A N E V E N T I N S I D E T H E N E W PA V I L I O N L ast month's inaugural "Wine" Down of Season event hosted by Vue Grille & Bar was so successful, restaurant staff is already busy planning another six events before the end of the year. About 200 guests attended the two-hour wine tasting and food event that took place April 25 inside the Coachella Valley's newest event hot spot — the 5,700-square-foot Pavilion at Indian Wells Golf Resort. This marked the first time an event was held in the Pavilion that was open to the general public. "Everyone loved it — we had a great turnout for this time of year," said Scott Winant, Direc- tor of Food and Beverage. "It gave us an opportunity to show- case the Pavilion and the types of events we can host." Representatives from 40 prominent wineries including Robert Mondavi, Pensfold and Stags Leap Wine Cellars were on hand to talk about new re- leases. Guests not only sampled great wines, but also could buy at wholesale prices. Wineries from California and the Pacific Northwest to Argentina and New Zealand sold about 50 cases collectively. "It's a great chance to buy wines you don't typically see in the stores," Winant said. Cost was $39 per person and included appetizers, a carving station and live music. Winant says he expects the number of wineries and guests to grow at future events. The price will re- main about the same. "This coming fall we'll hold our next event, which will be called Wine Up," Winant says. "The event was a success be- cause it's such a great price point for what is offered. Every- one is already looking forward to the next one." In addition to the wine tast- ings, Indian Wells Golf Resort will host a beer tasting featur- ing primarily California brew- eries sometime in June. A TASTE OF THINGS TO COME Pavilion showcases inaugural wine gathering, with more events on the way WHISKEY WEDNESDAYS Vue Grille & Bar recently debuted "Whiskey Wednesdays," featuring more than 80 different brands offered at a 25 percent discount!
