Popular Pro Am returns to the
Coachella Valley, making its
debut at Indian Wells Golf Resort
D
o you have what it takes to go up
against some of Southern Califor-
nia's most competitive golfers?
Then save this date: January 31, 2015.
It's when 125 golfers will tee it up on the
Players Course in the Indian Wells Pro Am
Championship. The Resort is the new home
of the fifth annual team event consisting of
amateurs and PGA club professionals.
"The Indian Wells Pro Am hits the sweet
spot for golf in the Palm Springs region,"
said Leven Shirey, Senior Golf Sales and
Marketing Manager. "It gives players of all
skill levels the opportunity to team up
with a local professional while
combining great food with great
company throughout the day."
The field will consist of 25
teams, each with four amateurs and one
PGA club professional, said Shirey, who
created and developed the event formerly
known as the PGAWEST Pro Am held at
the TPC Stadium Course.
Pros will compete for cash, and amateurs
will compete for prizes, awards, golf trips
and "good old fashioned bragging rights
if they can come out on top as IW Pro Am
Champions," he added.
This interclub event has featured teams
from Bighorn, Riviera, Newport Beach, The
Madison Club and other renowned courses.
"While outside teams are welcome, most
teams will consist of a golf professional and
four of his or her members," Shirey said.
