I
nside or out? More visitors
to the Vue Grille & Bar are
answering "outside" since
the patio reopened in early Feb-
ruary. The completed renova-
tion marks the final phase of the
restaurant's five-month remodel,
renaming and new sushi bar.
The patio seats 75 and is open
for lunch and dinner. Floor-to-
ceiling cascade doors provide
an open flow from the restau-
rant's dining room to the patio.
"It's a completely new look,"
says Scott Winant, Director of
Food and Beverage. "The best
part is that the patio
looks like a natural ex-
tension of the original
building; it fits right in with
the facade of the building."
An awning now shades the
space; however, it also retracts
to provide dining under the
stars. And you can count on
the temperature always being
comfortable on the patio, thanks
to new heaters, fans and a clear
roll-down screen.
"Now we can insulate the
area without losing the view,"
Winant says. "Before, the patio
was used about one month out
of the year. Now we have year-
round seating."
And speaking of views,
Winant is quick to point out
Eisenhower Peak and the spec-
tacular mountain backdrop. At
night, guests also see the lighted
palm trees that line the entrance
to the property.
"I think the patio has some
of the best views on the prop-
erty," Winant says. "And from
here, guests can also watch the
sunset."
Winant says that in addition
to restaurant seating, they ex-
pect to host receptions and just
about any type of private func-
tion on the patio. Restaurant-
sponsored wine dinners and
other special events on the patio
are also in the works.
