CHANGING IT UP
Renovations will help the IW Club keep its cool
he IW Club has long been
a choice spot for relaxing
and dining. But like a
professional golfer who rebuilds
a consistent swing in order to
raise their game, the facility is
undergoing changes to better
serve visiting and local golfers,
vacationers, business people
and special-event guests.
GM Steven Rosen is overseeing a remodel and refurbishment of the two-story building
that includes the main dining

room and terrace, cafe and
patio, private dining room,
lobby bar and banquet center.
Coming later this Fall, the IW
Club will offer more seating,
new furnishings, and interior
and exterior enhancements that
improve space, use and feel.
"By adding to our seating and
enhancing areas throughout, the
facility becomes appealing to
more people as a place to spend
down time or to hold larger parties or events," Rosen said.
Key to increasing the venue's
appeal is increasing its "feeling
of comfort," Rosen said.
To achieve that goal, interior
decor will reflect restful earth
tones and coziness. Opaque
glass added to the tops of the
banquette seats will ratchet up
their comfy quotient. The upstairs bar will be furnished with
more intimate pub-style tables
and chairs. Awnings will ensure
year-round use of the patios.
"The downstairs cafe has
been redesigned to create a
more fluid outlet for golfers to
come and go any time before,
during or after their rounds,"
Rosen said.
Published and online reviews
point to the restaurant's culinary excellence; nonetheless,
menus are being tweaked to embrace farm-to-table seasonal offerings and artisan food.
"The dishes reflect American
cuisine with a California influence," Rosen said.
The upstairs bar will leap
onto the gastro-pub bandwagon
with a lineup of microbrew
beers and handcrafted foods.
A name change for the IW
Club is also in the works that
will reflect its refreshed look
and feel.
