FEEL THE
BURN!
Teeing it up during the
summer has its benefits
F
or some golfers, playing in the heat is
no big deal. The love of the game far
exceeds any negative impact of play-
ing under a blazing sun, especially if
you're playing at Indian Wells Golf Resort.
Plus, this time of year offers big-time bene-
fits, such as a faster pace of play, reduced
green fees, and more distance.
"The ball does fly quite a bit better in the
summer," said Director of Golf Joe Williams.
"Many players will be one club longer in the
summer, and many will come into greens with
less club than normal."
Typically, you will find three types of
golfers willing to brave the dog days of sum-
mer in the Coachella Valley for a round of golf
– those who get out early, those who will play
through any scorching conditions, and those
who prefer to finish when the sun goes down.
