S
omething special is happening
at The Academy at Indian Wells
Golf Resort as the resort's in-
struction department is launch-
ing Saturday Specialty Clinics that will
run from January 15-March 19 from
noon-1:30 p.m.
Put on by PGA Director of Instruction
Eric Solander and Lead Teaching Profes-
sional Jordan Hamblin, the clinics take a
more in-depth look at your skills in a
progressive format from class to class.
> The first clinic on January 15 is
titled The Moment of Truth, and will
include an introduction to the impact
position, and why it's the most impor-
tant area in the golf swing to under-
stand and know how to practice from.
> The January 22 theme is Club Head
and Club Face Control and it will delve
into how well students can control
their golf club and club face from start
to finish.
> The January 29 clinic, Tempo and
Timing, will focus on getting students to
swing with a consistent tempo through-
out every club in the bag.
> The February 5 event, Athletic
Motion, will help diagnose swing flaws
in your full swing and provide you with
drills that you can practice to increase
your athleticism.
The remaining clinics include topics
such as Symmetrical Drill and Reverse
Learning (February 12); Pre-Shot and
Post-Shot Routine (February 19); A Jack
of all Trades is a Master of None, but
Oftentimes Better Than a Master of One
(February 26); Driver Full Swing Syn-
chronization and How to Shape Shots
off the Tee (March 5); The Two Ways to
Get Better Without Changing Your
Swing (March 12); and Anything and
Everything (March 19). Each clinic is $75
per person to attend, and you can come
anytime, even if you've missed a week.
