I
hope everyone had a nice
holiday season and I'm
looking forward to seeing
the golf courses filled with
players in 2022.
Conditions on both the
Celebrity and Players courses
are very good right now, and
we've been receiving a lot of
nice comments from our resi-
dents, guests and golf staff.
We recently hosted the
men's and women's PGA
National Club Championship
featuring the country's top
amateur club champions, and
it was exceptional.
The tees and fairways are
looking exceptional with great
color and density, and the
greens are also very nice and
picking up speed.
They are rolling very true,
too, which is something golfers
love and we are focused on
keeping them healthy and look-
ing good. Right now they are
rolling about 9.5-10 on the
Stimpmeter, and going forward
we'll try to pick up another
foot. I think 10.5 for our courses
is pretty solid, and will allow
golfers to have a great challenge
without risking longer rounds.
During the next couple of
months we'll focus on general
maintenance such as edging
sand traps and cart paths, keep-
ing playing areas free of debris,
and adding more sand to our
bunkers. So, the next time you
come out, look for the courses
to be in outstanding shape –
from tee to green.
