W
illiam Murray Golf, an apparel com-
pany owned by movie star Bill Murray
and his brothers, is making its debut in
the Indian Wells golf shop this month.
Known for his colorful antics on the course as
well as his role as groundskeeper Carl Spackler in
"Caddyshack," Murray launched the company with
his siblings Brian, Joel, John, Andy and Ed in 2017.
The brothers grew up in Chicago caddying and
playing golf and were inducted into the Caddie Hall
of Fame in 2015.
But now their focus is on the clothing company,
which, as it says on their website, was created on the
notion that life and golf don't have to be so serious, and
to keep it light, have fun, and bring personality onto
the course.
Indian Wells Golf Resort Merchandise Manager
Pam Vincent says she is excited about carrying the
line for the first time.
"They have super fun novelty polos, pullovers, vests
and pants," she said.
Known for being soft, cool and comfortable, the
clothes feature a lightweight performance fabric that is
easy to care for, doesn't require ironing, and is mois-
ture-wicking.
One of the defining characteristics of the brand is the
iconic Tartan plaid – a bold blue, red and green pattern
that has identified the Murray family for over three
centuries and that was first stitched in Scotland, the
birthplace of golf.
