ne of the newest lines of apparel
now available at Indian Wells Golf
Resort is called Bad Birdie – and it
arrived in the golf shop with a very
good backstory to accompany its
colorful and flashy clothing.
Based in Los Angeles and founded in 2017 by Jason
Richardson, the company prides itself on designing ap-
parel for players who "hold nothing back on the tee"
and offering shirts that "aren't your grandpa's polo."
Back in April, Bad Birdie appeared on the TV show
"Shark Tank." Richardson entered the Shark Tank and
pitched Bad Birdie to the panel of celebrities and in-
vestors, and eventually lured a $300,000 investment
from Robert Herjavec.
But not without a twist.
Herjavec wanted 25 percent of the company and,
unwilling to part with that much equity, Richardson
bet 5 percent that Herjavec couldn't make a putt with
the pressure on.
He missed it, and it created a viral moment for the
company that helped put Bad Birdie in the spotlight.
"Bad Birdie is fun," said Pamela Vincent, Merchan-
dise Manager at Indian Wells Golf Resort. "Their polos
are bold and they have standout patterns as well as an
athletic fit that is optimized for golf."
Available at the Indian Wells golf shop and online
store, Bad Birdie polos feature high-quality materials,
bright colors, and unique patterns and designs, such as
the flamboyant Tropicana or the bold Cortez with its
rich orange, brown and yellow hues.
The polos are currently on sale and guests can pur-
chase shirts that are normally $80 for just $52 either in
the golf shop or online.
