shots in the night BooK a tee tiMe iw shootout is a Fun Made-For-tV aMateur eVent a nyone who loves golf likely loves competition, and locals recently had a chance to watch 10 ama- teurs battle it out on the course in a new television special called "The Shootout at Indian Wells Golf Resort." "It was a fun way for the network to in- teract with its viewers and create a spe- cial opportunity to compete in a fun and unique way," said Michael Tebbetts, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Indian Wells Golf Resort, adding that he'd like to host the event again in the future. Filmed in September and originally aired in mid-November by KMIR NBC Palm Springs, the two-episode competi- tion can be viewed online. The high- pressure nine-hole format featured male and female golfers from all corners of the Coachella Valley and eliminated the player with the highest score on each hole. King Wilder of La Quinta shot 3- under-par and won in a playoff. "It was nerve-wracking on every single shot," Wilder said. "Every shot counts in this kind of format." .............................................................. > clicK here to watch the show. what to watch… H oliday parties and all types of other get-to- gethers have gotten a shot in the arm with the addition of Shots in the Night. Matt Balesteri, the Director of Night Golf, said there are two new games – Last Man Standing and High Stakes Putting – and guests are eating up new additions to the food truck offer- ings, such as loaded nachos and Carne Asada fries and fish tacos. To take the chill out of winter evenings, fire pits have been added (which can be reserved complimentary), and the bever- age menu now includes Bour- bon-themed hot drinks. ............................................................... > clicK here to make Shots in the Night reservations, or call Event Sales Manager Sydnee Tucker at (760) 834-3831.
