IWGR named Course of the Year for the second time
by the California Golf Course Owners Association
F
or the second time in six years, Indian Wells Golf Resort has
received the California Golf Course Owners Association
prestigious "Course of the Year" award.
"Indian Wells Golf Resort is an extremely well-managed prop-
erty that continues to introduce innovative programs while leading
the way in conservation and environmental stewardship," said
Marc Connerly, the CGCOA's Executive Director. "It is unheard of
for a course to win Course of the Year twice in such a short span,
but the committee simply could not overlook the resort's great
success, led by the Shots in the Night experience."
Announced at the association's annual meeting in late October,
the award recognizes the entire property at Indian Wells for
demonstrating excellence in course quality, water stewardship,
ownership and management, and contributions to the community
and the game.
"It is always very special to be recognized by your peers in any
industry, not just golf," said Michael Tebbetts, Director of Sales and
Marketing at Indian Wells Golf Resort. "The golf at IWGR is spec-
tacular, and the playing conditions are second to none for public
golf courses – but the experience and the genuine hospitality pro-
vided by our associates is what sets us apart."
