Chef Nestor Ruiz Zavala takes over the kitchen at Vue

professional chef for more than 20 years, Nestor Ruiz Zavala
took over the reins at Vue Grille & Bar in late November of
2018, and has been busy updating menus and preparing for
various events. We caught up with the culinary expert recently
to hear what he had to say about cooking and plans for Vue Grille & Bar.

what made you decide to become a chef? I love food and the happiness it
brings to me and others.

what attracted you to the chef position at vue grille & Bar? The challenge of
not just running a restaurant but a resort, which includes the Pavilion, our
banquet facility and the food truck.

do you have any plans or goals in the coming months? Changing the bar
menu. I just changed it two months ago, but it still needs a little work.

what's your favorite dish to prepare? Here at the Vue it would have to be
our Garlic Crusted Halibut. It's also one of my favorites to eat.

Favorite kitchen gadget and why? Chef's knife. That's all I need when I go
into battle "dinner service."

what do you like to do in your spare time? Spare time? What is that? I spend
it with my 1-year-old son Kylo.
