Sydnee Tucker
A
veteran of the hospitality in-
dustry and formerly the
restaurant manager at Vue
Grille & Bar, Sydnee Tucker took on
the position of Event Sales Manager
earlier this year. An employee at In-
dian Wells Golf Resort since 2013,
Tucker took a few minutes out of her
schedule to talk with us about
work, family, and her love for the
Coachella Valley.

How long have you lived in the
Coachella Valley and what do you
like about it? I've enjoyed living in
the Coachella Valley for 15 years. I
enjoy the diversity, the way each
style of life rolls into each other and
how each community and town of-
fers something different – from the
food to the recreation and people.

What are your responsibilities as
Event Sales Manager? Assisting our
guests in their venue and menu se-
lections for private and catered
events. I will also help with reserva-
tions for our Shots in the Night golf
experience when it opens, and I'm
involved in the food and beverage
facilitating for our golf groups.

Why did you decide to change po-
sitions? Having spent five of the last
10 years of my hospitality career at
the Vue Grille & Bar, I had held every
position available to me and chose to
gain sales and marketing experience.

What do you enjoy most about
your current job? It allows for fur-
ther development of customer rela-
tions, marketing techniques and all
the things that are behind the scenes.

Why is Indian Wells Golf Resort a
great place for events? First of all,
the location. The resort is a beautiful
facility full of individuality and mod-
ernism both indoors and on the golf
courses. The staff are among the
friendliest and most professional
people in the business, and the dedi-
cation to their work and pride in
their facility shows. Last but not
least, we are constantly improving
our facilities and incorporating new
ideas and trends. Each member of
our team works hard to provide a
customized experience to our guests.

What types of events can be held
at Indian Wells? We are an ideal
venue for weddings and proms, cor-
porate events, receptions and meet-
ings, and photo ops. We have
accommodations for both large and
small groups, golfers and non-golfers
alike. One of my favorite things
about the grounds here is that we
have so many areas that are suitable
for different types of events.

What is one thing people might be
surprised to know about you? People
are often surprised at how much I
dedicate myself to work and play.

What do you like to do when
you're not working? My time is usu-
ally spent outdoors and out of town
with my son and husband. On sum-
mer Sundays, you'll find us at a race
track in a '69 Volkswagen.
