Expected to open in mid-October at Indian Wells Golf Resort, the Shots in the Night golf adventure will cre- ate an enjoyable experience where re- sort guests can relax and unwind after the sun goes down. On the driving range, players will aim for large and colorful inflatable targets that light up and make noise when hit with a golf ball. On the nine-hole putting course, computer- generated lasers will project games such as horse, golf darts, shuffle- board, around the world and bocce onto the green. Adding to the social setting, there will be food and bar service available via a food truck, music, and comfortable outdoor seat- ing to complete the setting. "Just like going to a TopGolf facil- ity, the environment and food and beverage offerings are a crucial part of the experience," said Michael Teb- betts, the Director of Sales and Mar- keting at Indian Wells Golf Resort. Tebbetts added that work is nearly complete on the putting green por- tion of the project. After a recent trial run, he said there is some fine-tuning to be done and testing to be completed along- side a team from NextLinks – the golf technology innovator behind the new concept – to ensure the experience for guests is outstanding every time they visit. While they work on polishing the product, excitement will continue to build for an addition to the resort that should be as popular with sin- gle-digit handicappers as it is with business travelers who have never played 18 holes. "The golf industry continues to look for new ways for non-golfers to be introduced to a version of the game that is easier, takes less time and is much more fun than the de- manding game that we as golfers love," Tebbetts said. "That is what Shots in the Night is all about." JOURNEY INTO THE NIGHT Excitement builds for Indian Wells' Shots in the Night experience as putting green portion nears completion BOOK A TEE TIME
