Similar in some ways to the uber-popular and grow- ing TopGolf, Indian Wells is cre- ating an experience that utilizes existing space at the range and put- ting green and offers participants a variety of ways to enjoy fun games at night. On the driving range, groups or in- dividuals can aim for large, colorful inflatable targets that light up and make noise when you hit them. On the nine-hole putting course, computer-generated lasers will proj- ect games such as horse, golf darts and Bocce onto the green. Adding to the social setting, there will be food and bar service, music and comfortable out- door seating to complete the experience. Director of Sales and Mar- keting Michael Tebbetts said the new nighttime activities will offer guests a captivating entertain- ment option and, whether you're a scratch golfer or a novice, it won't re- quire the same time commitment as a round of golf. "As the center of our 'campus' with four hotels, we're always look- ing for fun things for visitors to do during off-peak hours," Tebbetts said. "To have an entertainment venue that can draw people and en- hance our current operation was something we wanted to explore. We looked at a lot of possibilities, and this was a no-brainer." Tebbetts said the new nighttime of- ferings at Indian Wells also would be the first golf entertainment amenity of its kind in the Coachella Valley, and perhaps all of Southern Cali- fornia. "There are a lot of golf simulators out there, but I haven't seen anything in a setting like this – outdoors and on a real putting green," he said. "We're looking forward to providing this opportunity to our guests."
