W
ant to get a feel for the courses
at Indian Wells Golf Resort
before hitting the first tee? You're in
luck, as the resort has recently
released flyover videos that
showcase the layouts from tee to
green.
Golfers can watch videos of the
Celebrity Course and Players Course
before playing, and they'll soon be
available in all golf carts to reference
during their rounds. The high-defini-
tion videos, produced by Birdie
Media and shot with drones, offer a
dramatic overhead look at each hole,
and should be helpful in course
management and strategy, especially
for players unfamiliar with the tracks.
"We love them, and they really
have the feel of what you'd see from
a helicopter flyover during a profes-
sional golf tournament on TV," said
Director of Golf Joe Williams. "It's an-
other first-class amenity that we
offer our guests."

GOLFBOARDS NOW AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND
G
olfBoards were first offered to guests at Indian Wells Golf Resort last November,
and because they have become so popular, the resort has doubled its fleet to
eight boards and will now rent them year-round.
For $35 in addition to regular greens fees, golfers can enjoy their round on a Golf-
Board and get a feel for the experience so many players have been raving about since
the boards debuted a few years ago. They can be ridden almost anywhere on the golf
course and add an element of fun as players cruise over varied terrain like they were
surfing or snowboarding.
"The next generation of golfers is looking for unique experiences and different
twists," said Michael Tebbetts, Director of Sales and Marketing. "We want to build
those experiences in the coming years."

OVERSEED CLOSURE RATES AND DATES FOR FALL
B
oth courses at Indian Wells Golf Resort will be overseeded this fall, with the goal of
getting them in pristine shape for the busy winter months.
The Players Course will close September 25 and will re-open October 13, while
the Celebrity Course will shut down October 16 and be ready for play November 3.
During that six-week period, rates will be $159 Monday-Thursday and $169 Friday-
Sunday, with twilight rates of $79 weekday and $89 weekend after 1 p.m. and $59
and $69 after 2 p.m. Jonas Conlan, the Director of Agronomy at Indian Wells, explained
that the inconvenience of closing the courses briefly for overseeding is worthwhile
for the playability that results during the winter. The goal is to have them perfect by
January 1.
"Overseeded turf here in the Coachella Valley provides some of the best conditions
you will ever see, especially compared to other golf courses around the country," Con-
lan said. "Golfers visit in large numbers every year to experience these conditions."
