here are many ways to
enjoy the Pro-Am In-
vitational Tournament
scheduled for the first time at
Indian Wells Golf Resort.
The Pro-Am, sponsored by
the city of Indian Wells, com-
bines teams from some of the
top golf clubs in Southern
California, so golfers can ei-
ther watch exciting golf
action, support their
local professionals
in the Coachella
Valley, or even play
on one of the 25
team spots available
on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015.
"Playing the day before
Super Bowl Sunday we think
this event will be a great
draw for Coachella Valley
residents and an event that
will continue to grow," said
Leven Shirey, Senior Golf
Sales and Marketing Man-
ager at Indian Wells. "The
winners of this event will
have bragging rights for the
entire year as the best team in
Southern California."
In the event, professionals
will play their own ball in a
stroke-play format with a
team of four amateurs play-
ing a one best-ball, net sham-
ble that will be combined
with the pro's score for the
overall team score.
Amateurs playing the
event can choose their own
pro or have the tournament
provide them with a local
professional golfer.
Amateurs will play for
awards and prizes, including
golf packages to some of the
best golf resorts in the coun-
try. There also will be hole-in-
one prizes on each of the four
par-3s featuring two cars and
two custom golf cars, as well
as closest-to-the-pin and long
drive contests.
Additionally, there will be
a post-event awards party and
reception with music, hosted
wine tasting and appetizers.
Professionals will play for
a share of the $10,000 purse
and for the title of Indian
Wells Pro-Am Champion.
"We want to attract the
best players to our event and
support our local golf profes-
sionals," Shirey said.

he Inaugural Indian Wells
Pro-Am Invitational Pre-
sented by the City of Indian
Wells is Saturday, January 31,
2015, on the Players Course
at Indian Wells Golf Resort.
The 11 a.m. shotgun start is
limited to the first 25 regis-
tered teams. The entry fee of
$1,200 per team includes:
v 18 holes of golf with
shared GPS-equipped cart.
v Use of the practice facility.
v Amateur tee gift package.
v BBQ lunch.
v Awards reception/cocktail
party and hors d'oeuvres.
