W
hile a portion of the
country will soon
be putting their
clubs away for winter, Indian
Wells Golf Resort is getting
ready to resume its seasonal
golf clinics – where everyone
from novice players to single-
digit handicappers will be able
to participate in a clinic de-
signed to improve their game
starting on Nov. 18.
"Most of the students are be-
ginners, but we do have some
avid golfers who might be
struggling in one aspect of
their game," says PGA Head
Golf Professional Tom Burley.
The clinics, which cost $29
per student and run Tuesday
through Saturday beginning at
11 a.m., will each focus on one
aspect of the game, such as
chipping, the full swing and
course management, with
groups moving off the range
and on to the course to a spe-
cific hole.
"Narrowing the lesson to one
element is ideal for most stu-
dents because golfers in gen-
eral are very specific with their
problems," explains Burley.
Each group will be limited
to eight students per instruc-
tor, Burley said.
And while the overall struc-
ture of the clinics is designed
to improve your game, it's not
at the cost of a good time.
"It's a fun atmosphere and
even those who have never
played before realize they can
enjoy themselves learning how
to play golf," says Burley.
The end result will be a golf
experience that will improve
your play – while having more
fun in the process.
"I always like the analogy
that you're going to put a few
new tools into the toolbox,"
Burley says. "I don't think
we've ever had a clinic that
didn't improve one aspect of a
student's game."
